Here are 6 simple steps that might help you a lot

1. You can also lower your health insurance cost by registering with a group health expense sharing plan. This refers to a set of people who have chosen to collectively give themselves coverage. They are usually found in large organizations like churches. Terms and scope of coverage vary from group to group. You can check out such groups, know what they provide and see if they fit your health care needs. You can expect your rate to be cheaper if you find a group that caters for your needs.

2. You’ll save more in health insurance if you are not rigid in your choice of health care providers. For you to get the most affordable rates you may have to use doctors and hospitals that belong to a particular group or network. You may be forced to stop visiting your favorite doctor if he or she isn’t part of the network. If that’s too much of a sacrifice for you, then you cannot really lower your cost using this option. But in your flexibility don’t compromise the quality you get.

3. There are drugs that are big brand names. If you buy name brand drugs, your health insurance rates will be more. For those who don’t know, the law demands that all drugs must have the same active ingredients notwithstanding if they are brand name or generic. Where they are free to have any difference is in the inactive agents. The truth then is that you only spend more when you buy an established brand name drug and do NOT get anything more in value. Nevertheless, discuss this with your doctor before taking this decision.

4. For people who have a health condition that makes it tough or costlier for them to get private personal coverage, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) insurance would offer a more affordable option.

5. You’ll spend less on health insurance by using a PPO or Preferred Provider Organization. This option is slightly costlier than an HMO but as well offers more options. It’s yours to check the value you’ll get with what you’ll save to choose whether it will serve you better than traditional. If cost is the priority, you will almost always save more by making use of a PPO instead of getting normal health insurance.

6. You will save much if you really have between 15-30 minutes. Visit, obtain and compare quotes from several quotes sites. The difference in quotes presented for a profile could range from several hundred dollars to well over a thousand.

6 steps to choose affordable health insurance

dental insuranceHave you looked into buying dental insurance for yourself or your family? You’ve made an excellent decision. Recent statistics have shown that 7 out of 10 households in the United States are with any type of dental coverage and, along with medical insurance, these statistics are both frightening and unacceptable. However, have you only looked at dental insurance for your dental care? Were you aware that there are other options besides just dental insurance? Let’s take a brief look at what else is out there.

The best non-insurance option available is called a dental discount plan. These discount plans simply provide big savings by visiting a dentist or other certified dental specialist with their network. Some of these discount plans are quite large with over 100,000 members so it’s very likely that you’ll be able to find a participating provider in your area. Who knows, your current dentist may already be a member?

Anyway, these plans offer savings on dental work from preventive care to major dental. Some plans even offer savings on cosmetic dentistry. Most of these dental discount plans are less expensive than legitimate dental insurance and offer savings as high as 60%.

While the cost of dental insurance has risen over 500% in the past decade, the quality of coverage has steadily declined. The biggest issue that most consumers have with dental insurance plans is that they don’t cover any existing conditions. This means that if you have a broken tooth, need an extraction, need a root canal, are in pain now or whatever reason it may be, buying a dental insurance plan won’t help you because you already had that problem at the time that you bought the policy. An in depth check-up, which the insurance company will require, will reveal all problems that you currently have with your teeth and they will be listed as “exclusions” until you have gone through a required waiting period. Most waiting periods last at least one year and even then you’ll likely have to pay most of the costs for your prior issues.

Dental insurance may not be your best solution, especially if you or your loved ones have issues that need to be addressed right away. Make certain to take a good look at all your options before you buy dental insurance.

It isn’t always easy to choose the right insurance carrier to handle your needs - especially when the automobile you’re trying to insure isn’t an auto at all, but a motorcycle.

Shopping for any kind of insurance can be tricky. Companies have the tendency to offer different types of plans, making it difficult to know which ones offer the same basic benefits for the same price. It isn’t uncommon for one insurance carrier to offer you a policy at one price, and another carrier a totally different price for what appears to be the same coverage. The reason? It isn’t always apparent. Maybe the higher priced agency offers full replacement value should your motorcycle be stolen or totaled in a crash, while the other carrier only pays the amount the bike was worth at the time of the accident - which can leave you paying thousands in extra costs to buy a new bike similar to the one that you lost.

Another difference may be in the deductible being offered. The higher the deductible, the lower the insurance rate. But, be careful. It’s always a good idea to carry the lowest possible deductible that you can afford, since this is money straight out of your pocket in the event of a claim.

The first thing you’ll have to decide when purchasing motorcycle insurance is what type of coverage you want and need. If you’ve taken out a loan to buy your bike, your creditors will more than likely require you to purchase full coverage until the loan is paid in full, but if you were lucky enough to pay cash for your bike (or handle financing in some other fashion), than you may be able to decided exactly how much insurance you really need and want to pay for.

Liability coverage allows you to carry a low premium, but keep in mind it doesn’t cover any of your costs associated with an accident, theft or vandalism. It is basically a policy to cover the other guy and any costs you may find yourself responsible for.

Collision insurance will help pay for the replacement or repair of your own bike should something happen to it, and full, or comprehensive coverage pays for everything, including heft, vandalism and all costs associated with any accidents you may be involved in.

Once you decide on the type of insurance you want and the deductible you’re comfortable with, it’s time to start shopping around. The best way to find a good deal is to talk to other bikers in your community to see what carrier they use and what cover ages they carry. After that, the decision is yours. The important thing is to get what you need for a price that you can afford.
